‘Haywire’ Trailer

Edited 7/28 1113 1532

A revenge flick by Steven Soderbergh, who’s been quite prolific of late–he’s also behind the upcoming “Contagion.”  Doesn’t look like it’s anything that we haven’t seen before, but then again, these types of films depend upon how interestingly they handle old tropes.

Pics From ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance’

Superherohype has posted pictures from the reboot of 2007′s  Ghost Rider.  The first film, directed by Mark Steven Johnson, was a bit too cartoony–despite being about an embodiment of a demon with a flaming skull for a head, which I assume was done to not alienate younger viewers.

This version, directed by Mark Neveldine & Brian Taylor, will be significantly more violent, if films like “Crank,” “Crank 2″ and “Gamer” are any indication.

Darabont off ‘The Walking Dead’

Edited 7/27 2022

According to Deadline, Frank Darabont has left AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and been replaced by Glen Mazzara, an Executive Producer for the series.

‘The Smurfs’ Trailer

Edited 7/28 1542 1545

Raja Gosnell’s ”The Smurfs” isn’t a film that I have any intention of seeing, but that doesn’t mean that someone else (though I imagine that they would have to be under twelve) wouldn’t mind seeing the trailer.

‘Cowboys & Aliens’ Trailer

Edited 7/28 1528

Jon Favreau’s ”Cowboys & Aliens’ premieres this Friday, and of course Screenphiles will be there.

‘Battleship’ Trailer

Edited 7/31 049

The trailer for Peter Berg’sBattleship” is available via Yahoo! Movies, and, if I do say so myself, it’s looking very Transformerish (not too sure if that’s a good or bad thing yet).

‘The Woman’ Trailer

Edited 7/28 2030

Lucky McKee is a talented director, as “The Woods,” and “May” have shown us.  He’s back with “The Woman,” which looks a bit like torture porn, though I am obviously not basing that on anything but the trailer.

‘Immortals’ Trailer

Edited 7/27 940

No matter what you say about Tarsem and his films, there’s no denying that they’re visually stunning.  Here’s the trailer for his latest, “Immortals,” which I like to think as similar to “300,” with less homoeroticism (I think).

‘Intruders’ Trailer

Edited 7/27 939

Always in the mood for some good horror, perhaps “Intruders” can fit the bill.  You’ve got Clive Owen, creepy goings on with uninvited house guests–seemingly of the supernatural variety–and frightened children, which are always good for a scare or two.

Introducing The Trailer Park

Edited 7/27 928, 941

There’s something about a well-executed trailer.  Ideally, they’re like a starter before a rich meal (Or foreplay.  Either analogy works):  They whet the palate for the (hopefully) more substantial repast to come.

A good trailer teases–yet doesn’t withhold everything–which almost sank J.J. Abrams’ “Super 8″, till Paramount pulled out all the stops–and instead it gives you just enough to leave you wanting more.

Then there’s the cost of movie tickets, which seems to go up so fast, that a small family (for our purposes consisting of two adults and two children) can easily spend $52 to just to get into the theater, which doesn’t included popcorn, soda or candy, by the way.

That’s why I have added the ‘Trailer Park’ to screenphiles.  The intention is that it will be a central point for trailers of various sorts, so that if you want a trailer, you know where to look.
