The Wasp In ‘The Avengers?’ It Could Have Happened

While the Black Widow acquitted herself well in “The Avengers,” you might be interested to know that she was not originally going to be the featured female heroine in the film.

That honor would have gone to Janet Pym, otherwise known as the Wasp.

If you ask me–and you didn’t–it’s better that she didn’t appear because, while it would have made the comic-geek community thankful, it would have also introduced a character that didn’t have the background that the others did.

This would have meant that there would have been a bit more exposition than anyone would have wanted.

But, luckily Marvel Studios held out on her introduction, no doubt waiting for Edgar Wright’s  (“Shawn Of The Dead,” “Hot Fuzz,” “Scott Pilgrim Vs The World”) ”Ant-Man“ to introduce them both.
