The first Silent Hill film, directed by Christophe Gans, was–from what I hear, stylistically loyal to the game–but I thought that the story stalled when the characters were captured by the cult midway through  the film.  The second time around, Michael J. Bassett is at the helm, and judging from his past efforts, “Deathwatch” (in particular) and “Wilderness” I expect that the latest visit to ‘Silent Hill‘ will be, at the very least, an interesting one.

I also like that this is being released on Halloween.  It’s a perfect accompaniment to Run For Your Lives, which I expect to do this October, and the antidote to any more of those tired ‘Saw’ films.
