Edited 7/29 2156 2158 2200 When I heard that Joe Cornish’s “Attack The Block” would be opening today, I assumed that it was nationwide. It appears that this is not the case, though there was a sneak preview in Washington, DC a month or two ago. Despite seemingly skirting the DC region, it has opened in […]
I was doing a bit of reading , where I learned from Gerry Anderson’s Wikipedia page–not exactly the first place I check for news, though they do well with things that aren’t in any way divisive–that he’s got back the rights to the “Thunderbirds.” While I don’t know what the odds are that he can […]
Here’s a link to the trailer for director George Clooney‘s “The Ides of March (courtesy of Vulture and Yahoo! Movies),” also starring George Clooney, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei and Ryan Gosling. Why do I get the feeling–from looking at the cast–that someone is gunning for an Academy Award?
I was planning to see “Cowboys & Aliens” tomorrow, till I learned that “Attack The Block” is coming out the same day. I missed the sneak preview–through no fault of my own, unlike “X-Men: First Class”–so I think that I owe it to myself to catch it. So, “Cowboys & Aliens” will have to wait.
Edited 7/28 2054 Here’s a link to the trailer for “Tower Heist,’ the new film from Brett Ratner (the director of “X3: The Last Stand” who didn’t care enough about what he was doing to actually read the comic–we’re not talking about “War And Peace” here–that the film was based upon). Ben Stiller and Eddie […]
I was alerted to a deleted “Superman Returns” clip via SuperheroHype so I though that I’d do an embed. I haven’t seen the film, if only because what little I know about Bryan Singer makes him seem like a remarkably arrogant prat, which seems somewhat out of place since all the man does is direct movies. If […]
Edited 7/28 1518 1529 1531 According to Slashfilm, Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego is directing the upcoming “Apollo 18,” which is the latest of the ‘found-footage films’ like “The Blair Witch Project,” “Cloverfield,” or “Survival of the Dead.” It looks to be in the vein of Hanger 18 (in which the 1969 Moon landing is faked).
Edited 7/28 1110 1111 1534 “Final Destination 5,” the latest in the perhaps the most inaccurately named series of films ever, is being directed by Steve Quale, who’s worked with James Cameron on “Aliens of the Deep” and “Avatar.” Luckily, it appears there’s more Tony Todd than in prior episodes. This is good because his […]
Edited 7/28 1113 1532 A revenge flick by Steven Soderbergh, who’s been quite prolific of late–he’s also behind the upcoming “Contagion.” Doesn’t look like it’s anything that we haven’t seen before, but then again, these types of films depend upon how interestingly they handle old tropes.
Superherohype has posted pictures from the reboot of 2007’s Ghost Rider. The first film, directed by Mark Steven Johnson, was a bit too cartoony–despite being about an embodiment of a demon with a flaming skull for a head, which I assume was done to not alienate younger viewers. This version, directed by Mark Neveldine & […]
