According to The Wrap, Len Weisman is leaving “The Mummy” reboot over at Universal because of scheduling conflicts.
And while I wish him no ill-will, I have to say that this will probably be for the best because Weisman – be it his ‘Underworld’ films or his entry in the ‘Die Hard’ canon, “Live Free Or Die Hard” – is less a movie director than someone who strings various set pieces together with some dialog and/or action to bridge the gaps.
In other words, for me the films of his that I have seen don’t seem to gel as complete films.
