I don’t know how I missed this one. “The Colony” features Lawrence Fishburne and Bill Paxton, and takes place sometime in the near future where, once again, humanity is in the process of jumping the shark. This time around it seems that we somehow fraked up the weather, so unlike in “Oblivion” and “After Earth” […]
If anyone remembers when I first posted this trailer, I am still pretty buzzed about it. The Purge answers a question most of us have probably considered at one time or another, which is: What heinous things am I capable of doing if I were allowed to do anything that I wanted? Universal Pictures wants […]
Henry Cavil seems like a very charismatic actor, but is he mighty enough to carry a franchise? I am deliberately not including the Superman reboot, “Man of Steel” – you don’t carry films with Superman, Batman or Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr. may be the exception), they carry you – but because Cavil is in […]
“A Very Entertaining, Though (Seemingly) Unoriginal, Voyage Of The Starship Enterprise” Let me say for the record I am not a Trekkie. While more people are probably into the work of Gene Roddenberry I preferred Gerry Anderson and shows like “Space: 1999,” “UFO.” and “Space Precinct.” That ’s not to say that I didn’t respect […]
Still not too crazy about Zack Snyder’s “Man Of Steel.” Part of it has to do with my preference for Marvel heroes, though that does not mean that I want DC characters not to do well. Besides, if they have enough success, maybe they’ll get around to making a feature or two about characters I […]
And the best thing is that it’s perfect legal. If you’ve been waiting till Memorial Day to see “Star Trek: Into Darkness,” you’re in luck. Purchase your tickets through Fandango, and wait till you receive an email from them for a code to download the reboot that started it all: 2009’s “Star Trek,” via iTunes. […]
For awhile I was thinking that Elijah Wood being cast as the lead in “Maniac” was a mistake. Before I saw the trailer, I couldn’t get Frodo Baggins out of my head. After having seen it, focusing particularly on his creeped out eyes – they seem a bit too widely spaced, with that creepy Innsmouth […]
Feeling kinda ‘meh’ about “The Wolverine.” The only thing that interests me is Silver Samurai – there are a few shots of him in the trailer – and all he is is a guy in silver samurai armor. I guess what interests me is how faithful they are to the comic character.
I have been watching a lot of Netflix since I have been working getting over my cold. I finished watching “Firefly” – as a result I think I better understand the fixation the fans known as Browncoats have with the show; as an added bonus I appreciate Joss Whedon’s “Serentity” even more. I am also […]
I was planning on catching “Star Trek: Into Darkness” this weekend, till the mild sneezing and runny nose I was experiencing throughout last week bloomed to a full-on cold. As a result, I have spent the entire weekend in my apartment, doing as little as I could till I get over this. My condition seemed […]
