I don’t quite know why the fact that “Tron: Legacy” is streaming on Netflix so amazes me–though what I really should be concerned about is why I am watching it, since I have already purchased the movie via iTunes, and saw it in the theater twice–but I have to admit that it looks gorgeous. In fact, there appears to be details in the streaming version that I didn’t pick up in the theater (and that I am only seeing now because I have seen it so many times, and am actively looking) like when Sam is first pulled into the computer, and is picked up by a recognizer. There are these little contrails of mist when it moves through the sky, which adds dimension.
As happy as I am to see it, it’s also being brought to us by Starz, which means that when their deal with Netflix expires in February, so will the ability to see Tron:Legacy and other Disney films via Netflix.
I should mention that this is perhaps the best looking movie that I have so seen in streaming format. Blacks are rich, with virtually none of that irritating pixelation Netflix is notorious for.
