Let’s see…for fans of genre there isn’t all that much to pick from. Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit,” came out today, but it’s getting somewhat mediocre reviews.
That being said, I am most curious about the version that’s filmed at the faster frame rate of 48fps (frames per second), despite reading that it has caused some people to become nauseous.
I am worried less about the frame rate than that the movie is almost three hours long. Did I mention that it’s almost THREE HOURS LONG?
It’s almost more of a commitment than a movie.
In “Pacific Rim” news, MTV has an interview with Guillermo Del Toro where he discusses the trailer for his film. Watching the interview you don’t learn anything significantly new, but he does add some detail that you wouldn’t know prior to seeing it.
iTunes has “Storage 24,” a movie about a bunch of people trapped with an alien that is the polar opposite of E.T. What’s interesting about the trailer below is that you’re given little hints of what the creature looks like throughout the trailer. That’s a pretty ballsy move because it tells me that the story is strong enough that the monster is secondary.
