The trailers prior to Teaser Trailer #2 for Focus Features’ upcoming Captive State were perhaps too clever for their own good.  Reason being, when I first saw the first teaser I assumed that it dealt with a Purge-type situation, which I lost interest in pretty quickly because…the Purge.

But the second trailer has revealed that, while there are some Purge-like elements it’s actually an alien invasion thriller more in line with V than than a movie about Republican government run amok (which as far as I can tell is Republican government in general).

Now, I’m interested…
