I’ve read two books of George R.R. Martin’s A Song Of Fire And Ice–A Game Of Thrones, A Clash Of Kings, A Storm Of Swords, A Feast Of Crows and A Dance With Dragons–and found the series somehow lacking.

It lacks scale, lacks gravitas and doesn’t quite work for me, which is why I stopped after two or three episodes.
