I grew up reading comics so seeing the characters I was figuratively weaned on turn up on television and movies is a very gratifying experience. That being said, if you see anything often enough – while the bloom doesn’t necessarily wear off – you do get more critical about it. Which is my way of […]
Remember a few months ago when I discussed that Netflix was dumping its Marvel Television properties (for reasons that were supposedly due to low ratings–and while that may be true I believe it to be a simplification)? If I recall I also paraphrased Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam) from 2013’s Pacific Rim ‘In order to fight […]
It’s interesting that now Marvel Studios seems to be actively considering a movie based on Scarlett Johannson’s Black Widow (Iron Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War, Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron) especially when you consider that the character should have had one long before Wonder Woman did. That being said, there’s […]
Here’s my reaction trailer to Marvel’s Luke Cage. The trailer looks pretty awesome (but it isn’t always the case?) and if Daredevil and Jessica Jones are any indication, this will be pretty impressive as well. The unremarked upon trailer is below.
If you haven’t heard, Netflix last week announced that a spinoff from Marvel’s Daredevil, featuring The Punisher, starring Jon Bernthal, is going straight to series. This is interesting, especially considering the denials from Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb early on. I enjoyed Frank Castle but I am left with a few questions.
Sure, the actual lyric is “I sing the Body Electric,” but once you take a look at the new Marvel’s Daredevil trailer featuring Elektra (Elodie Yung) you’ll see why my version is a bit more apropos.
“I’m sorry? Are you a professor of Kilgrave-ism?”
For Marvel’s Daredevil I literally watched the entire first series over about a day and a half. The reason I did so was because i wanted to see if i could, though i was also curious if could stand up to a serious binge-viewing. And it passed with flying colors. I’m not terribly familiar with […]
Despite being an avid comic reader, prior to Netflix’s Jessica Jones I barely knew anything about the character. I still don’t but I like the way–if the teasers are any indication–where it’s going. Captain America: The Winter Soldier was a political thriller, Guardians Of The Galaxy was Marvel’s interpretation of a space opera. Daredevil (Netflix’s version) […]
People, typically idiots with something to prove, like to talk about how things are equal between mean and women.
