Just when you thought that those Spartans from Zach Snyder’s “300” were defeated, six years of so later comes “300: Rise of an Empire.” I assume that there’s another group of almost unconquerable warriors, once again squaring off against Xerxes (the guy in the golden underwear from the first film, who’s actually based on a real person, though I suspect he wore a little more clothing in reality).
It doesn’t look quite as homoerotic as the first film, though I suspect that there will continue to be an excess – according to some– of computer generated abs to go around.
This time around Norm Murro is directing, though Zach Snyder co-wrote the screenplay with Kurt Johnstad, as well as producing.
