‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Trailer

I know, trailers always look good, after all, they’re showing the best of the movie.  That being said, the new trailer for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” sets all sort of standards for awesomeness.

From what I can see there appears to be a traitor (or perhaps signs of a power struggle) within S.H.I.E.L.D.

I know this because early on you see one of the agents with Captain America is actor Frank Grillo, who is supposedly playing Crossbones, who has ties to the Red Skull in the comics.

Then there’s the person on the operating table that looks like Col. Fury, as well as the helicarrier – which seems to be spouting a few huge guns that weren’t there when we saw it in “The Avengers,” which to me seems to say that someone is working upon making S.H.I.E.L.D a more overt force in world affairs that it has been prior.

As if I needed more proof, there a scene that seems to show multiple helicarriers.

Then there’s the Russo Brothers saying that the film is in the vein of “Three Days of the Condor,” which was all about betrayal and double-crosses.

There’s tons of carnage, the introduction of the Winter Soldier, and a helicarrier in flames.  As much as I think “Thor: The Dark World” will be great, I am getting the feeling that “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will be the movie to beat for all-around coolness.

    • If the movie is half as awesome as the trailer is – realizes half the threads and plot lines it hints at – it’s quite possibly going to be one of the best superhero films ever.

I also like that the scale is relatively small. After The Avengers it’s nice to see a Marvel film that doesn’t directly threaten the world with destruction.
