The Twilight Zone is a tricky franchise to revisit. There’ve been numerous versions since the original, which ran in 1959-1964, but none have captured the spirit of the zeitgeist quite like it.
The most recent version is being spearheaded by Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us) though I suspect that it won’t be able to escape the shadow of Rod Serling.
And one reason is because of this…

And I could go on, though my point is that-despite directing horror films like Get Out and the upcoming Us-Jordan Peele is a comedic actor and lacks the gravitas, the bearing to pull off a Serling-esque turn.
