Showtime decided to put the first episode of their upcoming series, Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels on Youtube, which as far as I can tell has minor edits (cursing, nudity and overt displays of violence though besides the fairly obvious blurring out of certain details– which happens though isn’t particularly common–it’s hard to tell when it’s being done).

This new series is created and written by John Logan, who also created the original series though it shares nothing in common with that show beyond the moniker and appears that it’s becoming any anthology series, similar to American Horror Story, The Terror and The Terror: Infamy that tackles horror through a historical lens.

It’s an interesting series though nothing that you haven’t seen elsewhere, not only due to the subject matter, but it’s structure in that it appears very predictable in that you can tell where it’s going.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m not fond of predictability when it comes to television series, though when you can tell from the first episode where it’s likely to end?

Not a good sign.
