According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bassam Tariq is no longer helming Marvel Studios’ reboot of Blade. Interestingly, an actual reason was given him leaving the project (a scheduling conflict, which likely had to do with meeting the November 23, 2023 release date, as opposed to the virtually meaningless ‘creative differences’).
Though one sign that Tariq left the project under good circumstances – despite him essentially saying so in the article – is that he’ll remain an executive producer on the movie. His situation is similar to that of Scott Derrickson’s in 2022, when he left Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness yet retained an executive producer credit.
