With Matt Damon not returning to the Bourne movies, there was no way that Universal was going to give up on a franchise that has pulled in almost $950 million dollars.  Enter Jeremy Renner, last seen in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and (soon) in “The Avengers.”

I hope that Paul Greengrass (“The Bourne Supremacy,” “The Bourne Ultimatum”) also returns, because he has a kinetic style of directing that perfectly suits the subject matter.
