New ‘The Bourne Legacy’ Trailer

Here’s the latest trailer for “The Bourne Legacy,” with Jeremy Renner in a role that originated with Matt Damon.

Truth be told, I am more focused on writing a post in relation to Guillermo Del Toro (potentially) abandoning his passion project, a movie based upon H.P. Lovecraft’s “At The Mountains Of Madness.”

Del Toro is considering doing so partially because Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” may cover similar territory, and partially because executives at Universal would rather waste $300 million or thereabouts, on a movie version of a board game, as opposed to half that amount on a film that had the potential to kick all sorts of arse.

And even if it didn’t kick all the arse that I think that it would, it would still be easier to make its production costs back, since it cost less to make in the first place.

Besides, if “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” has taught us anything, it’s that movies aimed at more mature audience members don’t make money (that’s sarcasm, in case anyone is wondering).

Though to be honest I suspect Universal is preparing a $200 million dollar version of “Tic-Tac-Toe: The Movie.”

With aliens, because if “Battleship” has shown us anything, it’s that the movie watching public are quick to drop their drawers for anything with aliens in it.
