The most irritating aspect of which being my attempt to watch Michael Bassett’s “Silent Hill: Revelation” via iTunes.
I have no idea why things went all sorts of wonky, but I spent four or five hours from the discomfort of my bed trying to watch the movie.
Though what you’re probably (or should) be wondering is why I spent the afternoon in bed, for despite it being my day off I don’t tend to be particularly lazy.
I was on my back, and at various times my stomach or sides, because every once in awhile I get a cough that just doesn’t quit, though that’s not the worse of it.
‘The worse’ being that it’s so damned dramatic. Listening to me you’d think that I was trying to upchuck a lung or something.
So, what does my whining have to do with a post about the Black Panther?
Not much, but since I can still type (when I am not on a coughing jag) I’ll be damned if I’ll let it stop me from posting.
According to sites like The Hollywood Reporter, The Movie Blog, and Avengersite, among others report that the feature based upon Marvel’s reigning King of Wakanda was in development around this time in 2011.
Yet when Kevin Feige spoke about the upcoming slate of Marvel films July of last year he didn’t mention the Panther.
I have no idea why, but could it have something to do with Wesley Snipes serving three years for tax evasion? Snipes was the star of the ‘Blade’ films: Blade, Blade 2 (easily the best of the trilogy) and Blade: Trinity (easily the worse) and put Marvel on the map.
Could Feige perhaps be waiting for Snipes? He went to jail in December of 2010, which means that he would have been out for about two months now.
Though truth be told, I have no idea as to why the Black Panther appears no longer on Marvel’s slate, though I hope that it makes an appearance.
