Review: The Umbrella Academy | Season 1

For awhile I was worried about Netflix cancelling Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil (more than likely to be followed by The Punisher and Jessica Jones) but after seeing the first season of The Umbrella Academy, a new series based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name, I’m a bit more comfortable because it’s a great series.

And what makes it so watchable is that despite being pretty dark, subject-wise, it’s not in the least bit off-putting or stylistic at the cost of story.

And the production design is first-rate as well, which makes me wonder what the budget is because there’s no doubt that this series is expensive.

Though you can see all the money on the screen, which is where it should be.
