And if there were a definition of the term “teaser trailer” in a text book I wouldn’t be shocked if it referred to the Batwoman teaser because this thing literally tells you nothing at all beyond the obvious.

Which is fine since I don’t particularly care about any of the CW shows that I have seen thus far and don’t expect Batwoman to change that.

Which isn’t to imply that I hate the shows on the CW that I have seen–which is most of them–it’s that I don’t particularly care one way or the other.

And that’s because, like in feature films based on DC Comics characters, the boundaries between which characters appear in features and which in movies is a bit…blurry and inconsistent.

Though what does bother me is that all the information I’ve received about this series thus far revolves around her sexual preference.

And I’m tired of that sort of thing.

I don’t care who consenting adults sleep with but when a series–or movie or whatever–highlights that particular aspect of a person’s character it tends to grate because it says to me that there’s nothing else particularly interesting about them beyond that aspect of their character.

It’s like as if 2018’s Black Panther were promoted as “The First Film With A Primarily African-American Cast! And An African-American Director!”

It wasn’t–as far as I know–and I’m thankful for that.
