Dune Drifter looks interesting despite having a poster that looks just like that of Mad Max, except from a different angle and from the back.

And who isn’t aware of the 900-lb gorilla that is Dune?

Then there’s the fact that the story of Dune Drifter is more than a little bit reminiscent of Wolfgang Peterson’s Enemy Mine (1985).

That’s not to imply that Dune Drifter won’t be it’s own animal when all is said and done, but with so much about it so familiar there’re reasons to be skeptical.
