David Robert Mitchell, the writer and director of It Follows, is planning a sequel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s going to be called They Follow and continue the story of the characters introduced in the first movie.

I enjoyed the movie though it confused me why the entity was so inescapable because – while I don’t know what the result would be – I don’t see why the young people couldn’t have set up a trap where the create falls into a very deep hole or off a tall roof (though to be fair they tried a variation of that with a swimming pool).

There was no indication that the entity was invulnerable – though I might be misremembering but didn’t Paul (Keir Gilchrist) shoot the entity in the head? And while that didn’t kill it he did manage to disable it for a time – though considering what they were dealing with I don’t see why they didn’t get more inventive about it.
