Trailer Into REaction- On The Trail of Bigfoot: The Ancients

I don’t tend to enjoy movies that speculate on the existence of cryptids like Bigfoot, Nessie, Champ and whatever based entirely on people’s say-so without a shred of supporting evidence (and it goes without saying that whenever there is proof it that it tends to be unconvincing).

Which brings me to the trailer for On The Trail of Bigfoot: The Ancients because I’m willing to wager the movie also doesn’t have a lick of support for the claims made or implied in the trailer.

And let’s be clear, it’s not that I don’t believe that there are creatures out there that humans haven’t stumbled upon, it’s that those creatures more than likely aren’t either massive hirsute humanoids or saurians because as big as the world may be, it isn’t so big that if such creatures were to exist that they wouldn’t have been found, either accidentally or deliberately, by now.

So if you’re expecting a megalodon to turn up anytime soon (outside of a movie theater) you’re going to be waiting awhile.

For instance, despite not living in Australia I’d be overjoyed to learn that the Tasmanian Tiger wasn’t extinct (though it isn’t a cryptid since it died out fairly recently, in 1936).

And there’s nothing in the way of convincing evidence to say otherwise and as unlikely as that is it’s slightly more likely than Bigfoot, Nessie or whatever turning up because as I said it was alive fairly recently.
