Various blogs have already posted images of  Anne Hathaway as “Serena Kyle” from Christopher Nolan’s upcoming “The Dark Knight Rises,” so of course I am going to as well, though with a caveat:

I am not particularly crazy about what Chris Nolan is doing with the franchise.  Sure it’s profitable, hugely profitable in fact, but there’s very little that’s “superheroic” about it.

And, at least for me, that’s the whole point of a superhero.  In his attempt to place his characters in the “real world,” a laudable effort, he robbed them of what made them so interesting in the first place.

As a little kid, I could imagine begin Spider-Man, Ironman, or Green Lantern (this was before the mediocre movie).  But Batman, considering the way he’s been handled in movies?  Not so much.
