Does the premise of Shawn Levy‘s “Real Steel,” promoter has junky robot that has to overcome the odds against more advanced, more dangerous opponents, strike anyone else as silly (which is saying something based upon some of the films out there)?

And if that were not enough of a hurdle to overcome, it also sounds vaguely (as in almost exactly) like the Twilight Zone episode, “Steel.”

If I recall that particular episode, it only lasted about a half-hour.

Stretched an hour, I am not so sure, though what interests me most is if that they can somehow manage to make people feel about what I hope is a robot more practical that CGI.
