SyFy (which made a lot more sense when it was called ‘Sci-Fi’) feels like a network run by schizophrenics. On one hand you have Asylum features like “Sharknado” and “Atlantic Rim,” movies with bad acting, schlocky premises and very unspecial special effects. On the other you have series like the remarkable reboot of “Battlestar Galactica.”
A new SyFy series, “Helix” appears to be firmly on the quality side of things. It’s from Ronald Moore, who also worked on ‘Battlestar’ and revolves around a team at the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) who deal with infectious diseases.
“Helix” premieres today, 10/9c. Here are fifteen minutes from the premiere.

Got it recorded, can’t wait 😀
Let me know what you think about it!
Really liked it and I hope it gets even better 😀
Any particulars? Anything stuck you eye as being unnecessary or silly? Vice versa?
No I thought it was pretty well done. Especially for the Syfy channel. Gonna watch ep 3 soon, gonna see a few more eps before I make a judgement 😀
