As the standard bearer for CBS All Access I’m at best ambivalent about Star Trek: Discovery. I think–from what I can deduce from the trailers–that it looks absolutely gorgeous and cinematic.

That being said, subscribing to another streaming channel just to watch it seems a bit…excessive.

It doesn’t help that CBS is going through all sorts of drama due to the allegations of sexual misconduct against Les Moonves, never mind the particularly tortured development of Discovery itself.
