I missed Annihilation in theaters–as did most people since it cost $40 million to produce–literally a pittance in days of $200-300 million epics–and earned just over two-thirds of that amount.

And that’s a pity because Annihilation is literally one of the best movies of 2018. It’s beautiful, powerful and manages to have a cast primarily composed of women and manages to do so without trying to makes some sort of statement.
