I recently saw 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and it’s one of the worse movies I have ever seen. And I’m not being hyperbolic here. It’s. The. Worst.
It’s the epitome of cinema as product and virtually engineered to get asses into theater seats, which I did not do particularly well, it’s worth saying.
And that’s okay and is frankly no different than any other movie. The problem is that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 forgets that no one is supposed to see the cynicism, the contempt that the moviemakers see them in typical moviegoers.
