REview: Girl On The Third Floor (2019) | Terror Never Dies

Travis Steven’s Girl On The Third Floor is a pleasant surprise, a horror movie that manages to take tropes that are familiar to people who’re fans of the genre, yet manage to be it’s own thing.

For instance, I can see instances of the work of David Cronenberg (Videodrome in particular) and Michael Winner (The Sentinel) yet it doesn’t feel as if it’s copying them.

And I suspect that it’ll hold up well to repeated viewings because I could tell there was more going on than I was picking up on my first viewing.

Girl On The Third Floor is the first feature Travis Stevens has directed– he’s directed a documentary short prior and produced tons of projects–and it’s a unusually confident debut.
