I have yet to see Dark, but I’ve heard good things about it and intend to soon though having completed the followup, 1899 – review forthcoming! – if it’s half as good it’s going to be remarkable.

And I have no intention of talking about what happens – beyond the obvious, which is to say the series revolves around an ocean voyage to New York and the discovery of a Mary Celeste named Prometheus, and the repercussions of doing so.

One of the interesting things for me about the series is that it makes heavy use of The Volume – if I recall, a technology introduced on The Mandalorian – and it’s pretty remarkable how on 1899 the filmmakers push the technology even further.

Though what’s most interesting about it is that 1899 reminds me strongly of the direction I wished The Matrix Resurrections had taken.
