Earlier today a trailer dropped for Zach Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver and it pissed me off a bit.
Reason being Zach Snyder is at best a mediocre director; all flash and very little substance and that he’s received millions to make mediocre movies means that someone – or perhaps a lot of someones – aren’t going to get a chance to maybe, just maybe, do a little bit better.
So that’s a problem though when you combine it with the fact that the visual esthetic of Rebel Moon is seemingly lifted in it’s entirely from David Twohy’s Riddick movies – a series that, while flawed, are more interesting and ambitious than anything Zach Snyder has ever done – I get even more miffed.
Interestingly enough, David Twohy has co-written a movie called Ice Moon Rising, which is expected in 2025.
Now that’s a Moon I’m interested in seeing rise.
