Spider-Man: Far From Home – Trailer Into Reaction

A few hours ago Sony released the teaser trailer for their upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home and it looks like a lot of fun (like any Spider-Man movie should be). And did I mention that Mysterio is the villain? Played by the–at times–uber-creepy Jake Gyllenhaal? In fact, the only shortcoming I can find with the […]

Escape Room – Review

This is an awesome movie! Now, by ‘awesome’ I mean ‘effective’ because the story is a mess an it has…problems. What makes Escape Room work is the actors. They’re no joke and buy into a bizarre scenario–that’s gets progressively more ridiculous the more you learn about it–with aplomb. Want more info, check out my review!

‘M’ is for Awesome

You might be saying to yourself: ‘Wtf!?’ ‘Mysterio’ doesn’t start with an ‘A?’ Ah! But when you think about it, Mysterio is one of the most awesome villains in Spidey’s rogues gallery, so it’s a fitting accolade. Created in 1964 by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee, Mysterio first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #13 and […]

Men In Black International – Official Trailer

Besides the title being a bit silly–after all the Men In Black includes aliens from OTHER WORLDS, for frak’s sake! Yet somehow we’re emphasizing it’s international nature!? Then there’s the product placement (memo to studio: If you’re seeing obnoxious product placement in the damn trailer it’s likely to be even more so in the movie, […]

The Raid: Redemption – Review

Gareth Evans’ The Raid: Redemption is spoken of particularly highly by people who appreciate martial arts movies, and there’s something to be said for the fight choreography, which is particularly remarkable at times, Though the problem is the movie doesn’t bring too much else to the table beyond the aforementioned fighting. Which means that once […]

The Possession Of Hannah Grace –Trailer

Lately I’ve been a little leery of Screen Gems (while they did release John Carpenter’s Ghosts Of Mars–an underrated movie) because they released the horror (in a bad way) that are, for the most part, the Resident Evil movies and more recently, Slender Man. The latter being very, very ‘Meh.’ Though I have to admit […]

Holmes and Watson – Official Trailer

Now this looks funny! I like Will Ferrell best when he’s at his broadest, and here, playing Sherlock Holmes, he’s definitely swinging for the fences though I find John C. Reilly most interesting because his Watson is somewhat of a straight man to Ferrell’s bizarre Holmes. And speaking of Holmes did anyone get a very […]

Blade Runner 2049 – Review

Someone, after seeing the cut of Blade Runner 2049 that was released to theaters called it ‘the most expensive art film in history.’ And that’s pretty accurate. Blade Runner 2049 is beautiful to look at but there’s a languidness, a subtleness about it that doesn’t do the material any favors. Virtually everything about it is […]

Slender Man – Review

If you were to make your moviegoing decisions based upon reviews you’d likely haven’t seen Sylvain White’s Slender Man. And that’s okay because it’s not a terribly good movie. The antagonist–Slender Man itself (a character Angus Scrimm did much better in the Phantasm movies pre-Internet meme) is a cypher in that you have no idea […]
