I am taking a position on the latest Tom Cruise controversy–by which I don’t mean the recent dissolution of his marriage, or his religious beliefs–but instead him being cast as Jack Reacher, from the series of books by Lee Child.

I haven’t read any Reacher novels, though I do understand when someone happens to be a fan of a particular character, and who have voraciously read every book that the character has appeared in, only to find that they have been (seemingly) miscast.

And Yes, that means that I will never forgive Keanu Reeves being cast as John Constantine.

I am not the only one that feels betrayed with such casting decisions are made, because there’s a whole contingent of fans that are very much against Tom Cruise being cast, and not only because he doesn’t look anything like Jack Reacher.
