Collider has just reported that there’s a reboot to the goofy Leprachaun movies coming, called Leprechaun Returns (I’m unaware if it’s a sequel to 2014’s Leprechaun: Origins).
And speaking of Origins, it wasn’t great but you could see the franchise moving away from the somewhat sillier aspects of the franchise. The Leprechaun movies have for the most part retreaded territory already exhausted by Freddy and the Nightmare On Elm Street movies, so it’s good to see the material starting to take itself more seriously.
Another good sign is that the movie is being directed by Steven Kostanski, the co-director of 2016’s The Void, a movie that while essentially a John Carpenter pastiche, was pretty good.
