I’m done with Star Wars. I enjoyed the original trilogy, but every since George Lucas left the franchise it appears that Lucasfilm is asleep at the wheel.

I think they’re taking a “director-driven approach” which means a director can essentially do whatever the heck they want, never mind continuity or narrative consistency.

And I’m out. And I admit it, I’m spoiled by Marvel Studios who have definitely shown that you can make a series of movies where continuity and consistency matter.

And that’s not to say Marvel Studios is perfect–far from it–but I want…Nay, demand!–thematic consistency in movies that revolve around the same characters, situations and world.

And I honestly don’t think that that’s too much to ask.
