Having seen 1982’s The Dark Crystal I initially wondered whom was resisting whom because if you’ve seen that movie you probably noticed that at the end that it tied up everything neatly.

Looking at the trailer, it looks like Age of Resistance is a prequel and sets up and early chapter in the rebellion (?) against the rule of the the cruel Skeksis.

As I note in my video, while I haven’t seen it again recently, I do recall it being a relatively dreary affair, bordering on boring at times. And that would be bad enough when you add to it it was hard to tell whom this movie was directed at, then that’s a little bit problematic.

It struck me as a bit creepy for younger viewers, yet not enough to engage most adults.

Perhaps Netflix is the best place for such a sequel because it will likely be exposed to a greater amount of people than would have likewise have seen it.
