A day or two ago the trailer for the latest season of Netflix’s Stranger Things franchise, Stranger Things 3, dropped and it looks…fine.
Not great, and definitely NOT an event though that’s okay in the sense that not everything has to be an event and there should be room for smaller-scale things as well.
Which is interesting because if you consider the stakes involved with this third season it feels like the producers are going all out.
What bugs more more is that has never felt particularly genuine to the period of time it was supposedly evoking in ways I find it difficult to put my finger on.
It doesn’t stop me from watching, though it does mitigate my enjoyment somewhat.
