Amazon dropped the official trailer for their upcoming Carnival Row a few hours ago, and visually speaking it looks like vintage Guillermo Del Toro (the writer of Carnival Row, Travis Beacham, worked on Pacific Rim with Del Toro) though if you check IMDB the latter is credited with writing one episode of the series, despite–what we can see from the trailer–a visual esthetic, minus the somewhat muted color palette, lifted directly from Del Toro’s playbook.

And it looks intriguing.

Though what I have to admit that it’s the presence of Jared Harris that sold me on the project because he’s an actor that knows how to choose projects and not known for appearing in shite (literally or figuratively).
