I didn’t see IT: Chapter 2 in theaters this weekend because I saw IT: Chapter 1 and was thoroughly underwhelmed.

Doctor Sleep, like IT, is a Stephen King adaptation so I’m hoping that it’s worthwhile to see in theaters. What it has in it’s favor is that it’s directed by Mike Flanagan (The Haunting Of Hill House, Oculus, Hush) who really knows his way around horror.

What is potentially a problem, albeit a minor one, is that visually the glimpses of the Overlook Hotel we get look awfully similar to what I recall from Flanagan’s The Haunting Of Hill House.

Though that may be picking nits at this point because Doctor Sleep ranks pretty high.
