The ‘Snap’ Heard Around Springfield

In case you were wondering how far Thanos’ snap from Avengers: Infinity War extended, apparently all the way in Springfield because the Simpson’s weren’t immune to its effects. Which makes sense when you think about since Disney purchased the assets of 20th Century Fox, which includes The Simpsons.

Velvet Buzzsaw – Trailer

I have no idea what a ‘velvet chainsaw’ is but it sounds relatively ineffective for the things chainsaws are typically used for. Having just watched the trailer for the movie I at first thought it was a high-brow commentary on art. Which is okay but not quite my thing. Looking a little deeper I think […]

Sex Education – Review

Netflix’s Sex Education is off to a great start. It possesses is a quality that many American series’ don’t, namely despite having a shorter amount of episodes–a season consists of eight episodes, as opposed to thirteen– the character development is not only particularly strong, but you’re always left wanting more. This is opposite many American […]

Monsterland – Review

Yesterday I rented Monsterland on iTunes–it was on sale for 99 cents–and I’m glad I did because if I had paid more I’ve been really pissed. As it stands it wasn’t a terrible anthology–and far better than the truly horrendous Creepshow 3, which isn’t saying much–but too inconsistent (when it wasn’t being amateurish and badly […]

Mea Culpa: Justice League is on Netflix!

Yesterday I wrote an article exclaiming that ’Justice League is on Netflix!‘ And that’s true. Though what’s also true is that you wouldn’t know it if you’re watching in the United States because it isn’t currently available on the steaming network here (my mobile devices operate via VPN which acts as if I were anywhere […]

Replicas – Final Trailer

Keanu Reeves seems like a genuinely decent guy though something about him bothers me (and truth be told has bothered me for quite awhile). He can’t act. Most everytime you read about him there are references to things like “in that ineffably stilted but enthusiastic Keanu-ish way,” or something else equally verbose when words like […]

Justice League Is On Netflix!

2017’s Justice League is on Netflix and with Aquaman rising above expectations to dominate the domestic box office maybe it’s time for another look at the movie that introduced him to the world (though technically that’s 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which I have included a clip from below). A better approach would–if […]

Io – Trailer

Netflix, as everyone knows by now, is very hit or miss when it comes to the movies they develop. For every Bird Box or Roma (review coming) there’s likely two or three of The Open House or Game Over, Man!. Though Altered Carbon was one of the better offerings by the network, and both Io and […]

The Upside – Trailer

I actually want to see this movie. That’s interesting because there’re no space battles, aliens, or undead anything (as far as I’m aware). Though what there is are apparently engaging performances by Kevin Hart, Bryan ‘Heisenberg’ Cranston and Nicole Kidman. And sure, the movie looks like a cliché (Cranston rediscovers his joie de vivre while Hart discovers a sense of self-worth and value) but […]
