I actually want to see this movie.
That’s interesting because there’re no space battles, aliens, or undead anything (as far as I’m aware).
Though what there is are apparently engaging performances by Kevin Hart, Bryan ‘Heisenberg’ Cranston and Nicole Kidman.
And sure, the movie looks like a cliché (Cranston rediscovers his joie de vivre while Hart discovers a sense of self-worth and value) but the thing is, clichés exist for a reason: They work so if the performances are engaging and heart-felt there’s no reason the movie won’t resonate with audiences.
After all, STX isn’t exactly a hit factory lately–their last hit was 2016’s The Boy–so they can certainly use another.
