Float Like A Butterfly, Sting Like A Bumblebee…

And I know bumblebees don’t sting, but work with me. According to Superherohype Paramount’s Bumblebee has overtaken Warner Bros. Aquaman in international markets. For reasons I’m not entirely sure Aquaman has been performing particularly well, outgrossing Justice League and Wonder Woman cumulatively. Which I find vexing. Part of the issue is that I’ve become accustomed […]

The Witcher – Teaser Trailer

I have never read The Witcher novels by Andrzej Sapkowski though they’ve built quite the following. They’ve also been spun off into video games, which appear to be equally as popular as the novels, if not more so. Now the character is being ported to television, with a series starring Henry Cavill, fresh off of […]

Save Daredevil!

Admittedly, most petitions of this nature are a waste of time, such as the effort to release the Zach Snyder cut of Justice League. First, there’s no evidence such a thing actually exists (there was likely an assembly cut of the movie shown to Warner Bros executives at various times, to give them an idea where […]

Escape Room – Review

This is an awesome movie! Now, by ‘awesome’ I mean ‘effective’ because the story is a mess an it has…problems. What makes Escape Room work is the actors. They’re no joke and buy into a bizarre scenario–that’s gets progressively more ridiculous the more you learn about it–with aplomb. Want more info, check out my review!

Carmen Santiago – Trailer

While I wouldn’t normally consider myself part of the demographic Carmen Santiago is aimed at I have to admit that I really like this trailer. The animation style is very clean and for the most part appears hand-drawn, as opposed to CGI, which is refreshing. Then there’s that ear-worm of a theme song…

Why I’ll (Likely) Not See ‘Aquaman’

I purchased a ticket for Escape Room recently (which looks like a cross between Cube, Saw and maybe even a little bit of Cabin In The Woods) but I haven’t yet seen Aquaman-though I caught Bumblebee, which is pretty good. And that’s saying something for a Transformers movie-and short of Netflix or DVD, have no […]

Marvel’s The Punisher: Season Two – Trailer

I’ve stated my concerns about Marvel Television’s The Punisher recently in reference to the teaser trailer released just a day or so ago and my feelings haven’t at all changed with the release of the full trailer. In other words Jon Bernthal is a great Punisher though I get the feeling this series is not […]

Attraction – Trailer

You ever wonder where money to finance movies comes from? I ask because a few days ago I saw a trailer for Attraction, an alien invasion thriller that was completed a year ago and very much looks like a Russian production I ask the question because every since the days of The Cannon Group I […]

Postmortem: The Chronicles of Riddick

2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick was a movie that betting person would have assumed was a sure thing. David Twohy was not only returning to direct–he helmed Pitch Black, the movie that propelled Vin Diesel to stardom–but the sequel would expand upon the ideas introduced in the first movie in new and interesting ways. And…it […]

The Punisher: Season Two – Teaser Trailer

With a second season of Marvel’s The Punisher (as well as a third of Jessica Jones) coming I’m mildly apprehensive about it’s chances. Not because of issues of watchability–though all the Marvel series on Netflix tend to run three episodes too many–but because of what from the outside looks like some sort of power struggle […]
