This is a really disconcerting trailer–for all the wrong reasons. Universal, off of the train wreck that was The Mummy, decided to go small, enlisting horror shingle Blumhouse and Leigh Wannell to produce a movie based on H.G. Wells The Invisible Man.

And…it looks more like a reboot of either Let’s Scare Jessica To Death or a Paranormal Activity franchise.

And I’m not at all sure that that’s the direction they want to go in because when the Invisible man feels like a guest in a movie supposedly about the Invisible man…that’s a problem.

Luckily this likely cost 1/3 the cost of The Mummy, so there’s that.
