The Society and 1899 Were Cancelled by Netflix, But at Least We Get a Third Season of Outer Banks

That being said, I don’t hate Outer Banks – and if Pope and JJ don’t manage to hook up at least once I’ll be really irritated because that’s one of the plot threads that seemed to be dangling in Season Two.

And I know that we’re talking about two dudes, but grow up though that being said if there was a choice between getting a new season of the latter or new episodes of The Society or 1899, I’d take either of them, any day of the week.

And I know it’s more complex than that – The Society was ‘killed’ by the COVID pandemic, despite having been renewed for a second season and while I have no idea why 1899 was cancelled after a single season though I get the feeling that it’s cost (it’s a gorgeous series, and likely cost millions of dollars to produce per season) was too much at the end of the day, despite it landing in Netflix’s Top Five for at least a month (that’s a figure off the top of my head, not something I’ve quantitatively looked into).

It’s a real bummer.
