You have to hand it to A24.
After all, this is the same studio that released Hereditary so it wouldn’t shock me if after that bit of retro-horror they’d rest on their laurels and go with something a little more conventional.
And you’d be wrong because it’s followup is Slice, a movie apparently about a pizza parlor somehow connected to the gates of Hell.
What’s interesting about this movie is–other than it’s a horror comedy starring Paul Scheer from The League–is that it appears that the studio is moving beyond a niche I like to call ‘art-Horror’ and slowly but surely advancing upon a space occupied almost exclusively by Blumhouse.
Things are going to get a mite bit interesting.
