I recall debating someone about the teaser trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s remake of Susperia a few months ago on Twitter, about how I found it not particularly scary.
In fact, I still think that the producers should have went with an update of the original commercial, literally note for note.
Though having seen the full trailer it looks intriguing, but still not terribly scary (though it does look terribly stylish and probably is production designed to death).
And that’s not to say that the movie won’t have me laughing (which I sometimes do when something scares or shocks me. The instigating incident in and of itself doesn’t have to to be silly though if that laughter is sustained then it’s likely because I find the scene either very silly or dumb) in discomfort and terror, though I doubt it.
