While I readily admit that a remake of Dario Argento’s giallo classic Susperia is a pretty good idea–despite not being a fan of remakes in general–I’m not terribly fond of the trailers so far released.
They–particularly the first full trailer–feels too restrained, too subtle, too retro Horror (which I define as a horror movie that tries to visually or estheticlaly evoke the feeling and atmosphere of movies from the past).
The first full trailer has a very Rosemary’s Baby-vibe, and that’s okay as long as you have something else to offer, which I hope it does.
The teaser feels more in line with it’s giallo roots, but it’s still missing something so what I did was take bits of the original 1977 trailer–which is truly awesome–and combine it with the 2018 trailer and teaser.
