The Haunting of Hill House – Official Trailer

The trailer for Netflix’s The Haunting Of Hill House dropped a few days ago and while I really enjoyed the teaser I was a bit underwhelmed by the trailer.

Reason being, it throws too much at the screen and feels chaotic and less supernatural than dramatic, while the teaser was more focused on minimalism and subtle oddness.

That being said, this version of Shirley Jackson’s novel lasts 10 episodes–the two versions in 1963 and 1999 (both titled The Haunting) were feature-length movies–so there’s the likelihood that this version will be more faithful to the novel.

And that could be a good thing (or maybe not because if you have read a Stephen King novel before you’ll likely understand that just because a writer includes this or that in a novel doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to include it in your movie).
